Small and midsize businesses are more concerned about global business conditions and poor economic growth than they are in adopting new technologies for their business, according to a new study by Framingham-based advisory firm IDC.

Hedge funds tracked by Greenwich hedge fund database manager Greenwich Alternative Investments fell in July, but outperformed many peer equity indices, the company said.

Net income at Stamford-based Patriot National Bancorp, parent company of Patriot National Bank, fell 26 percent in the first quarter and almost 50 percent in the first half compared to the same periods last year, largely because of increased provisions for anticipated loan losses, the bank said.
