Genesis Underwriting Management Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stamford-based General Reinsurance Corp., has created a new division and a new position within the company as part of larger organizational changes.

A new corporate division, dubbed the Reinsurance & Insurance Programs division, is a combination of the company’s former Captive & Reinsurance division with its Commercial Insurance division. The new corporate arm will be managed by Kevin L. Williams, and will streamline the company’s alternative risk and specialized insurance programs, according to Genesis.

Mary T. Hogan has been promoted to the newly created position of Genesis marketing manager, where she will be responsible for the development and coordination of companywide and branch marketing activities. Hogan has been with Gen Re since 1984.

Lastly, Jill L. Eaton has been named manager of the company’s Public Entity division. She will also continue to lead the division’s western region. The Public Entity division provides insurance products to governmental entities, schools, colleges and universities.
