Central Bancorp of Somerville, parent company of Central Bank, has reported a 43 percent increase in net income for the second quarter compared with the same period last year.
For the quarter ended June 30, net income increased to $401,000, or 29 cents per share, from $225,000, or 16 cents per share, for the second quarter of last year.
Total assets at the end of the quarter dropped $6.9 million, to $564.3 million, compared to $571.2 million at the end of the first quarter of this year.
