Richard White of Chestnut Hill and Linda Romano of West Newton were honored recently at The Village Bank in Auburndale. White was the recipient of the 2008 President’s Award, and Romano received the Service Excellence Award in recognition of outstanding performance.

White joined the The Village Bank as a teller in 1995 when the Newtonville branch opened, and, in 1999, was named manager of the new Waban office. The following year, he became manager of the main office in Auburndale. He was named manager of the bank’s new Customer Care Center in June 2007.

White’s prior financial services experience includes positions with Baybank, Pioneer Financial and Putnam Investments.

Romano joined the bank in 1985 as a part-time teller, and now serves in a customer service role. She currently serves in that capacity at two Village Bank locations: Auburndale and Lasell Village.
