E. Heather Smiley has joined Springfield-based MassMutual's Retirement Services Division as vice president, marketing communications.

Smiley most recently served as senior vice president of marketing communications for Fidelity Investments based in Boston, where she held a number of senior leadership roles during her 11-year tenure.

In her new role, Smiley will lead MassMutual Retirement Services Division's marketing organization including national accounts communications, participant, sponsor and advisor marketing, and advertising and public relations for the retirement business.

Smiley is based in MassMutual's Springfield headquarters and reports to Elaine Sarsynski, executive vice president of MassMutual's Retirement Services Division and chairman and chief executive officer of MassMutual International.
