Sara A. Stafford of Saugus-based Stafford Construction Services is the furst woman to be elected president of the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts (ASM).

Stafford succeeds Scott H. Packard of Chapman Waterproofing Co. of Boston, who will continue to serve on the board as past president. 

Other Officers elected for the 2008-2010 term were: President-Elect David G. Cannistraro of Watertown-based J. C. Cannistraro; Vice President Richard R. Fisher of Red Wing Construction of Beverly; Vice President George A. Porfido of Newburyport-based Mark Richey Woodworking & Design; Vice President Michael S. Kosiver of Lockeed Window Corp. of Pascoag, R.I.; and Treasurer Russell J. Anderson of Rockland-based Southeastern Metal Fabricators.
