Somerville architect James Batchelor has taken office as the 74th president of the Boston Society of Architects (BSA), succeeding Boston architect Diane Georgopulos.

Batchelor is the president of architectural firm Arrowstreet, located in Somerville's Davis Square.

The BSA is celebrating its 142nd anniversary as the nation's largest branch of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
