Danvers-based construction management firm William A. Berry & Son has been awarded a total of $6 million in projects by two Boston-area academic institutions.
For MIT, Berry will undertake a $4 million project for renovations at the Bates Linear Accelerator in Middleton. The 4,000-square-foot project involves transitioning an existing data center into a high-performance research computing facility.
Berklee College of Music in Boston has awarded Berry a $2 million project for renovations at 7 Haviland St., which is currently leased by the Fenway Community Health Center. The renovation of the three-story, 18,000-square-foot building will begin in 2009 and will include new faculty offices and classrooms. Construction elements involve mechanical system upgrades and façade and window work.
