Milton resident James K. Schmidt has been appointed to the board of directors of Boston Private Bank & Trust Co.
Schmidt is the retired lead portfolio manager of the John Hancock Regional Bank Fund. He was also the lead manager of the John Hancock Financial Trends Fund, the John Hancock Financial Industries Fund and the John Hancock Real Estate Fund. He served as executive vice president and senior investment strategist of MFC Global Investment Management, a subsidiary of Manulife Financial Corp.
In addition, Schmidt is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a past president of the BancAnalysts Association of Boston. He currently serves on the board of directors of Keefe Bruyette &Woods, a global investment banking firm specializing in the financial sector.
